International Day of Peace

The United Nations' International Day of Peace is annually held on September 21 to recognise the efforts of individuals, organisations and governments to end conflict and promote peace.

It was established in 1981 by the UN who called for all nations to observe a day of global ceasefire and non-violence and people everywhere to honour the banning of hostilities throughout the day.

Around the world schools, businesses and homes held events to mark the occasion and show their support. As a school community we will be lit candles in our Amphitheatre as a symbol that we support Peace Day and

created our own Wall of Peace with global and personal messages of peace.
